Royal Orchid to Close its Hyderabad Hotel

Royal Orchid Hotels, based in Bangalore is looking forward to monetize and liquidate its hotel in Hyderabad, Re:gen:ta One. In a  BSE filing, the company stated that they are seeking approvals for the same from the shareholders. This decision comes under the part of the Royal Orchid Hotel’s strategy to reduce its debit worth Rs. 160 Crore.  In the previous year, the company sold its 104 rooms packed Royal Orchid Ahmedabad Pvt Ltd to Samhi Hotels Private Limited at a deal of Rs. 67 Crore.

Packed with 154 rooms along with four suites, Re:gen:ta One in was established in Hyderabad with an investment of Rs. 230 Cr. Royal Orchid Hotels Limited  is a prestigious name as a leading hotel in Hyderabad, it is indulged in running of hotels and allied services and is promoted by Chender K. Baljee. It runs a chain of hotels under the famous brand names of Hotel Royal Orchid (five-star), Royal Orchid Suites and Resorts, Royal Orchid Central (mid-market) and the new venture ‘Regenta’in India.

Royal Ochid acquired a 30-acres sprawling beachfront property at Tanzania’s capital, Dar es Salaam for an investment of Rs. 8Cr in December 2007. The hotel is planning to set a hospitality-cum-residential project on this property.
